On his 18th birthday, Jacob Hastings learns a life-changing truth when his parents, Dr. Samuel and Arlene Hastings, reveal that their infamous pharmaceutical company is actually a cover for the Secret Savant Society, a hidden organization that solves extraordinary mysteries and tackles the world’s most complex challenges.

Samuel asks Jacob to join the society, and together, they recruit four gifted individuals from around the world—Matthew, a shy tech expert with a gift for decoding symbols; Theodora, a cheerful linguistics specialist; Nikolai, a cynical but brilliant mathematician; and Jietang, a quiet observer with sharp instincts.
