Geoff McCue

Author • Screenwriter • Inventor

Geoff McCue has spent much of his life asking one deceptively simple question:

What if?

What if a person could see tomorrow—but couldn’t change what they saw?

What if thoughts could be recorded?

What if a simple touch allowed someone to enter another person’s mind?

What if extraordinary intelligence existed in people the world had underestimated?

And what happens when technology gives ordinary people abilities they were never prepared to possess?

Those questions lie at the heart of McCue’s novels and screenplays.

An author, screenwriter, and longtime inventor, McCue brings an unusual real-world perspective to speculative storytelling. Long before creating fictional technologies, he was developing actual ones.

During a career spanning technical sales, product development, and independent invention, McCue was awarded numerous U.S. patents covering innovations in athletic equipment, wearable technology, protective systems, printing technology, footwear, and sensor-based devices. His inventions and ideas have brought him into contact with major companies and have resulted in multiple licensing and patent-sale agreements.

That experience profoundly shapes the stories he writes.

Geoff’s science fiction rarely begins hundreds of years in the future. Instead, his stories tend to start in a recognizable world and introduce one extraordinary breakthrough—a device, discovery, ability, or unexplained phenomenon capable of changing everything.

From there, the technology becomes secondary to the people forced to live with its consequences.

Geoff is the author of seven published books, including The Sleeve, The Zircon Twins, Hidden Minds, The 24-Hour Burden, Mindscribe, The Past Speaks, and An Intuitive Touch.

He has subsequently expanded his storytelling into screenwriting, adapting his original concepts for feature films and television while developing additional projects for the screen.

His stories span science fiction, psychological thrillers, technology-driven suspense, mystery, and human drama, but they share a common foundation: an extraordinary idea placed in the hands of ordinary people.

After a lifetime of inventing things that did not previously exist, Geoff now applies that same imagination to creating worlds, characters, and stories—and asking audiences to consider whether today’s impossible idea might become tomorrow’s reality.
